Monty and Pat

Monty and Pat are not medically qualified. The purpose of this website is to share their experiences and promote awareness of common prostate cancer symptoms.

It is very important that you visit your doctor if you are concerned about prostate cancer or experiencing symptoms that could be related.

The earlier the diagnosis the more choices you may have with regard to the treatment.

If you would like to talk to someone who has been through the experience of prostate cancer, either before or after diagnosis, or in the role of the carer, feel free to contact Monty and Pat.

Andy, Pat's deceased husband

Andy said...

"If the government were to invest more money into research of prostate cancer the knock on effect could be that the NHS could free up more bed space in the hospitals - also if men were compulsorily invited to be tested by their GP from the age of 50, thousands of men a year could be saved, and live a more normal life than I have in the past ten years.

My main concern is that raising awareness of the disease is basically left to charities and victims."

Andy died in 2006 three years after writing this note. His message was written in 2003. It is 2010 and there are still no reliable screening tests.

Andy said awareness of the disease is basically left to charities and victims.
He is still right.

Help us to get the symptoms on display where men have time to read them - in all public and workforce urinal areas.
